Extroverted feeling and Introverted thinking axis.

Last video in my little series is finished.
I'm very proud of being able to take my video creating skills to this basic level.
Actually maybe a year ago I aquired the basic knowledge of how to do this by a fluke.
And then I forgot about it until now.
Goes to show that sometimes what you learn may be very valuable even if you cannot
see a use for it at that moment.
So here is the product of my endeavours.
Enjoy! =D

Extroverted thinking and Introverted feeling axis.

Now the third video is in the box.
Spent some time today learning to use Gimp better and I'm seeing some payoff.
Using shortcuts and such make it far easier to edit images.
Not that I'm doing anything complex, but every advantage helps. :)
So here is the next video.

Extroverted intuition and Introverted sensing axis.

Nice now the next video is finished.
I'm pleased to see that I'm managing to get these videos crammed out.
It is incredible how you start thinking you can do other stuff when you know
for sure that you can do this.
The only way forward is to prove to oneself that one can do something.
Then when the self-confidence rises, one needs to tackle harder challenges.
Me never having dealt with videos in this way find that the more I make
the more I believe I can make.
Anyway on to the issue at hand. xD
The video about the extroverted intuition and intoverted sensing.

Extroverted sensing and introverted intuition axis.

Done with the first video in the series.
I'm quite pleased with how it panned out. It is a big improvement over earlier videos.
But if I hadn't made those making this would have been impossible.
Every failure is another brick in my castle so to speak.

The search for a working format and method.

So lately I've been thinking how I want to do this blog further.
I've discovered different ways of doing things and the limitations
of my skills and the tools at my disposal.

I think I've found a way forward and will make a new four video series.
Just to test the new idea and see if it is viable.

The videos will talk about the four Jungian polarities.

Extroverted sensation - Introverted intuition.
Extroverted intuition - Introverted sensation
Extroverted thinking - Introverted feeling
Extroverted feeling - Introverted thinking.

I know that I have covered them before, but hopefully this will be better.
So I guess I got to go make this thing happen then. ;)

Motivating oneself to take action,

It is weird how the most simple things can seem unatainable when you are indifferent.
Just going for a walk can seem like a chore.
Today I not only took a walk, but also decided to make a little outdoors video of myself.

Lately I've noticed that more than anything it is important to have plans for the future.
Plans that you are excited about, plans that require you to stretch in some way.
But that also seem within reach.

Making this blog step by step is part of my own little plan and dream.
Making videos is fun, but I need to not set the bar too high to begin with,
It is more important that I actually make a video than it being the best video ever.
Cause knowing myself, motivation and self-confidence comes and goes in cycles.
One day I can get a lot of effort into something, the next I could hardly care.

One other is that I need to shift the angle I attack something from often.
So it doesn't get stale and boring, both for myself and others.
Yes I'm an amateur, but one who want to explore this field
and it's possibilities. So here is the vid I made today short and to the point.

Jungian types overview

Just made a Jungian types overview video.
It shows that I'm just starting out making videos like that.
Still I don't care, a month ago I wouldn't be able to get such a result even.
It may not be the best video made, but it shows me what I have to work with.
The biggest issue I have now is that it is very easy to dream up something
that is far beyond what I can make.
I added a little mozart clip as audio, mostly to experiment with how that worked.
The video is a little quick compared to how long it takes to read the text.
So be prepared to use pause a lot. xD

lørdag 25. januar 2014

Realizing that I should not rush ahead too fast.

I was mentioning the posibillity of making a video in romance and type.
However that is a fairly involved topic and I realize that I will not be able
to make a good product about that at this time.

Rather I will continue where I left off at the basics of typology.
And will start making short simple audiovisual presentations on that.
I'd rather hone my skills making things I'm solid on rather that run ahead into
unknown difficult territory.
Somehow I have a tendency to rush ahead of myself whenever I start something.
A very typical thing for a 9. Every time one grows to 3 one gets overambicious
and then one burns oneself out.

So I will start with a video explaining how all the different areas of Jungian types connect.
And then I will continue from there.

This will be fun and more importantly don't involve me having to feel I'm pushing
my understanding of the topic and video skills too far. xD

Progress seeming stagnant.

So last days it seems nothing have happened.
And that is both true and false.

In fact I've been working on a new video, one that will take much more time.
I've decided that it will be without me talking.
More like an audio-visual presantation.
And to do that I'm currently in the process of making friends with the drawing tool named Gimp.
A wonderful tool really, as long as one can use it.
I have some rudimentary skills in it, but need to take it to the next level now.

Yeah other than that, I've been caught up with online discussions,
and in real life, well stuff is happening there too.
I've taken a lot of actions to make myself more happy.
I won't go into the specifics, but it helps getting out of the door meeting
new people who can give you new and enriching experiences.

So that is the status right now. Just teaching myself to better use the tools I have available,
and slowly having some of the pieces of a bigger product emerge.
You just have to believe in yourself.
Other people will have a lot to say about it.
But meh critics main feature is that they don't produce anything.
They just sit idly by and open their big mouth whenever someone else does something.

Lessons of trust

So when you go about your life.
Trying to be a good guy, not a nice guy, but a good guy.
And you tell people what is going on in your life and what you get back is what?

People give you shit and ridicule.
So you feel a certain portion of anger and a certain protion of wanting revenge.
But you know that revenge is not the way to go.
As a chinese saying says, the best revenge is living well.

People who act like that don't deserve to have your time and attention scheming to destroy them.
They deserve to be cut out from your conciousness.
To be ignored, they have no right to your energy.

So who is to blame?
Yourself is to blame.
You got yourself to trust these people despite every indication that they where untrustworthy.
But you chose to ignore it and now you feel this anger.
So use the anger, to cut those mistakes of trust off.
Discard it and don't look back, don't let them get to keep any off it.

The answer is simple.
NO THANKS!

lørdag 18. januar 2014

Done what now.

So I did the videos that I set out to make.
What now then?

Well I think I will shift focus back to Jungian types.
I know that the 7 and 8 video went south in the redo edition.
But I don't care about that right now.
I remember doing it and if you want to see them you will have to make due
with the old version. :p

Aynway I got into this discussion about romance and such and realized that
it would be interesting to talk about how that topic relates to type.
I have plenty of ideas, but they are pretty scattered.

Tell you what.
I will make a video on this tonight.
Just need to go to the store and buy some food,
so I have something to eat.

torsdag 16. januar 2014

Type 9 the redo

Last of the basic Ennagram types have been redone to a higher standard.
Now I just have to figure out what to do next.
I will probably have to learn some more about video editing or something.
I don't think I will bother with giving all the videos subtitles,
but who knows maybe I'll get in the mood.

Type 9 real person example David Beckham.

Type 8 the redo

Only one left now. =D
Glad to have this done, now I can soon start to think about how to take it to the next level.

Type 8 real person example Donald Trump.

OOOPS seems like the video was messed up.
I will make a new one.

Type 7 the redo

Type 7 is ready!
Feels nice to come near a close of this new revamped thing.
The subtitles can wait, I don't feel up for typing such massive amount in by hand.

Type 7 real person example Cameron Diaz.

OOOPS seems like the video was messed up.
Will make a new one.

onsdag 15. januar 2014

Type 6 the redo

The next video is up type six.
I tried to do the subtitles thing, but gee that was a lot of typing work for one video.
Forgot to mention the 6 holy idea btw.
It is faith, and as I talked about there isn't much of that in 3'ish territory.
But lots and lots in 9 space.

Type 6 real person example Jon Steward.

tirsdag 14. januar 2014

Type 5 the redo

Gotten the next one in wraps too, over halfway there to getting the basic types under wraps.
Now I will probably go to sleep if all my surroundings quiet down enough.
Else I might get tempted to start on number 6.

Type 5 real person example Kurt Cobain.

Type 4 the redo

Nice and packaged type 4 vid for you. ;)
I'm noticing that the process is becoming simpler.
Learning to use the tools properly, it pays to post in bulk.

Type 4 real person example Marilyn Manson.

Type 3 the redo

The type 3 has been reborn in a more efficient package.
Enjoy!

Type 3 real person example Mohammad Ali.

Type 2 the redo

Finished with the second installment of the more refined version of this exploration.
It is obvious that it is easier to follow and such.

Type 2 real person example Bill Cosby.

Type 1 the redo

Here is the next installment of the Enneagram effort.
I've learned how to join together seperate segments and make basic videoparts from images.
Hence I'm able to make a little bit better videos like this.
Leaves out all the awkward moments when I think about what to say next
or how to formulate myself.

(Added subtitles to this as a test, might do it to others later, but it is a lot of work)

Type 1 real person example Nelson Mandela.

Tools

So since I've decided I want to make my videos slightly better I realized that I needed
some additional software tools. This was not as straightforward as I thought.
But now I've downloaded several that seem to fit the bill.

Thanks AVG antivirus for jumping into action everytime I downloaded something nasty. xD

Will start working in some new version of the Enneagram series shortly.
For me this is purely for practice and fun.
I will post lots of video clips up there,
and hopefully we will learn some more about our mind in the process. ;)

mandag 13. januar 2014

What is this really about?

Couldn't sleep cause my head was racing.
Nice to have a blog to write stuff in them. :)

So basically I'm thinking about my own motivations here.
No wonder having made 28 videos about the enneagram in a very short space of time.
Now the quality and entertainment value of it all is pretty low.
But you know what, that is out of my control.
It really is, I can't turn into a charismatic guy overnight.
And I shouldn't try to either.

What I should try to do is make small improvement here and there.
Fix the obvious things like me spacing out thinking about what to say or how to word things.
That should be easily fixed by some video editing software and just a tiny bit planning.

I can live with the fact that I'm not delivering some amped up super product right of the bat.
Cause guess what.
This is still about me!

Sure I know I'm such a narcisistic bastard for even making this about myself.
But hey I'm no Fe type caring about the damn common value object.
I'm an ISFP, I find too much polish to be manipulative.
I don't find the idea of faking it to please people appealing at all.
So I will work on making things better, but only at a pace that feels natural.
Or else I know that my Fi will bail over feeling fake and my 9ness will
bail over too much pressure to perform at a burnout level.

And having come of to such a good start in my opinon, it would suck to
ruin my mood over something so silly as quality and viewer approval. :p

That is sort of more like a bonus for me, if someone likes it that is.
The object holds no charm after having been produced as we can be quite detatched from the
product/object.

An object, is an object, is an object. ;)

Enneagram the redo.

I'm sitting here mulling about the Enneagram videos I made.
Sure I managed to make several of them and that is all fine and dandy from the
psychological skill perspective. From a viewer perspective I've been told that all my pausing
makes it a bit drawn out. Now I can appreciate that perspective.
It means that I should rethink how I make these videos.

So I found some basic video editing tool that hopefully can do the job.
It will be interesting trying it out tomorrow.
I'm basically is going to do a redo of my videos so far.
Try to outdo myself at a new level.
It doesn't really matter does it?
I get repetition on the material and to practice doing the video editing.
Hopefully it will somehow pan out.
Or I will just do a redo number 3.
I don't care, it is my blog and I can fill it with content.

Every redo will be better though cause I'm learning a lot about this stuff.
Stuff that I didn't think to talk about in the first video.
And hopefully I can do something with the presentation.
Yeah cause that isn't all that fancy come to think of it. xD
But eh that is part of life isn't it.
Messing up and trying again, and again, and again...
LOL

Going to bed now!

Skills and confidence

So after all that Myers Briggs and Enneagram talk, I really need a break.
I was getting dizzy.

So I started thinking about why I do this.
It is for the skills obviously. Talking about it helps me get it better.
It also makes me more confident, since I've noticing that if I put my mind to it
I can actually make these things happen.

Believing that you have the ability to make things happen breeds confidence.
To be able to make things happen you need skill and faith.
The more confidence the easier it is to have faith.
The more skills the more likely that it will actually be successful.
Breeding even more confidence and faith in yourself.

Now this isn't special for me. Anyone can do anything.
I myself has chosen to focus on these personality systems lately.
I plan to focus on other stuff later.

Freudian dynamics

Okay here is the video on the Freudian dynamics that I realize now would be helpful
in understanding my wing series better.

Reference:
Id types: 3, 7 and 8.
Superego types: 1, 2 and 6
Ego types: 4, 5 and 9

Type 9 with 1 wing

Hey look I'm done with the wing series.
Nice! Got to point out some very important distinctions in this vid.
You do not want to lose out on this finale. ;)

Type 9w1 real person example Walt Disney.

Reference:
Type 9: Ego
Type 1: Superego

Type 9 with 8 wing

So in this video I explored my own type a bit more.
Cause as I've said, I'm a type 9 and also I lean towards the 8 wing.
I really touched upon the Freudian dynamics in this video.
Probably cause it is a lot more interesting to go deeper when you talk about yourself.
Anyway I hope I made what I was talking about clear, and if not I will revisit Freud later.

Type 9w8 real person example Ronald Reagan.

Reference:
Type 9: Ego
Type 8: Id

Type 8 with 9 wing

Now that I'm here within the anger triad, we start to get a fuller picture of these wing interactions.
There isn't much left now, just two more types and all the wings are covered.
Felt I managed to expose some more about how these issues play out in this video.

Type 8w9 real person example Martin Luther King Jr.

Reference:
Type 8: Id
Type 9: Ego

Type 8 with 7 wing

Getting to talk about the nitty gritty about the movement from fear to anger.
It is interesting how these dynamics play out for me and I hope you think so too.

Type 8w7 real person example Henry Kissinger.

Reference:
Type 8: Id
Type 7: Id

Type 7 with 8 wing

Got to touch on the issues involved with crossing from fear into anger.
This has become a very interesting exploration of the subject.
I'm very happy that I started this series. :)

Type 7w8 real person example John F. Kennedy.

Reference:
Type 7: Id
Type 8: Id

Type 7 with 6 wing

Last vestige of comfort about inner world has been reached.
From now on there is little awareness or want to deal with the inner world.

Type 7w6 real person example Elton John.

Reference:
Type 7: Id
Type 6: Superego

Type 6 with 7 wing

Got to talk a lil bit about the Freudian dynamics in this video.
I'll try to keep talking about those in the videos from now on.
Anyway good going, and getting to touch on some interesting issues.

Type 6w7 real person example Tom Hanks.

Reference:
Type 6: Superego
Type 7: Id

Type 6 with 5 wing

Got to cover the dynamics some more here.
There is a lot of repetition and I keep forgetting to mention the Freudian dynaimics. xD
However since we are still within the fear area I don't believe it matters too much.
I might make a whole video on the Freudian dynamics after I'm finished with the wings anyway.

Type 6w5 real person example Malcom X.

Reference:
Type 6: Superego
Type 5: Ego

søndag 12. januar 2014

Type 5 with 6 wing

Getting deeper into the issue of fear now.
It is fascinating to me how much I learn from this process.
I hope it becomes as obvious to you as it is becoming for me how this connects.

Type 5w6 real person example Stephen Hawking.

Reference:
Type 5: Ego
Type 6: Superego

Type 5 with 4 wing

The insights keep piling up.
I feel so much better doing this than being all embroiled in some online game.
There is so much to cover, but I think I'm off to a good start. :)

Type 5w4 real person example Freidrich Nietzsche.

Reference:
Type 5: Ego
Type 4: Ego

Type 4 with 5 wing

Got to go even deeper into this subject.
I'm really grateful that I have the opportunity to do this.
And it boggles me how much potential material the Enneagram alone is worth.
I could talk for hours and hours and only scratch the surface.
I'm planning no doing a lot of videos so for anyone with a bent towards this.
The supply is endless.

Type 4w5 real person example Johnny Depp.

Reference:
Type 4: Ego
Type 5: Ego

Type 4 with 3 wing

Got to deal with some further distinctions about the whole shame thing.
God I love this process. =D
So anyway I learned a lot hope you will too.
And now I just have to wait fot the vid to hit youtube so I can post this.

Type 4w3 real person example Michael Jackson.

Reference:
Type 4: Ego
Type 3: Id

Type 3 with 4 wing

In this video got to talk about how I think you can move back and forth between the wings.
Sideway movement isn't really popular in the Enneagram community,
believeing that things are static is a really big thing there.
But as we know reality is more dynamic than such narrowness.
You can change your life, sure it is painful and not fun, but people have done it.
Still I don't believe in big leaps sideways, just because it is fairly traumatic.
You are switching up how you view yourself in a big way.
Still forgetting to really mention too much about the Freudian constucts,
but meh you know they are there and they are mostly there to justify
jumping from shame to fear etc.

Type 3w4 real person example Tom Cruise.

Reference:
Type 3: Id
Type 4: Ego

Type 3 with 2 wing

Further distinctions unraveled in this vid.
Getting into some real nitty gritty issues.
I forget to talk about the Id vs Superego issue somewhat.
But all it really boils down to is doing what you want vs others expectations.
And that I cover plenty.

Type 3w2 real person example Bill Clinton.

Reference:
Type 3:Id
Type 2: Superego

Type 2 with 3 wing

The Enneagram exploration goes forward.
Off course I've been here before and have a little bit of familiarity with it.
But for me I'm noticing new things each time.
I hope that this will be an enriching experience for whoever decides to watch this.

Type 2w3 real person example Barbara Bush.

Reference;
Type 2: Superego
Type 3: Id

Type 2 with 1 wing

Rolling these out today as if it was an assembly line. =D
This video is kinda short as I didn't really know what else to say.
Felt most of it was covered by the last video, so this became more of a summary.
Still summaries are good when you want to learn so check it out anyway.

Type 2w1 real person example Mother Teresa

Reference:
Type 2: Superego
Type 1: Superego

Type 1 with 2 wing

Next wing is here.
I'm glad I did this cause there is a lot of interesting things I got to say about this topic.
I added some things that was relevant to the topic of the last vid as well.

Type 1w2 real person example Margaret Thatcher.

Reference:
Type 1: Superego
Type 2: Superego

Type 1 with 9 wing

So getting started on the next video series.
I really feel that this is getting somewhere and I'm learing a lot.
Hopefully anyone watching this is learning as much.

Type 1w9 real person example Noam Chomsky.

Reference:
Type 1: Superego
Type 9: Ego

Wings

Starting a new series on the Enneagram wings now.
Taking it a little deeper and exploring exactly what it means for each of the
18 possible combinations.
This is going to become very interesting so just lean back and enjoy.

Type 9

Yes this went fast.
Now I've covered my basic type also.
Nice going. I will continue on with the wing concept in the enenagram.

Type 9 real person example David Beckham.

Reference:
Vice: Indifference
Virtue: Serenity
Fear: Loss
Desire: Peace

Type 8

There now the next one has been covered as well.
I feel good about the things I managed to underline in this video.

Type 8 real person example Donald Trump.

Reference:
Vice: Lust
Virtue: Generosity
Fear: Being harmed or controlled
Desire: Independence and control

Type 7

Great got to do my type seven vid despite the screen crashing and stuff.
I liked how my cap example worked.
Plus got to challenge my image of myself a little.

Type 7 real person example Cameron Diaz.

Reference:
Vice: Gluttony
Virtue: Sobriety
Fear: Stagnation
Desire: Experience life

Type 6

Then we have covered the next type only 3 types to go.
Really good insigths into the type in this vid I feel.
Starting to get some real nice distinctions.

Type 6 real person example Jon Steward.

Reference:
Vice: Fear
Virtue: Courage
Fear: To lose security
Desire: To be secure

Type 5

Type 5 is in the box.
Now I'm starting to understand how a lot of things go together here.
Verbalizing it surely helps my understanding.
Hope it helps you too.

Type 5 real person example Kurt Cobain

Reference:
Vice: Greed
Virtue: Detachment
Fear: Helpnessness
Desire: Competency

Type 4

Getting trough this real fast now.
Guess it help beeing driven by wanting to be valuable. ;)
Won't tell you my type yet it will emerge as I cover more advanced concepts.
I didn't say it in the video, but calmnes and composure is the way to go for the 4.

Type 4 real person example Marilyn Manson.

Reference:
Vice: Envy
Virtue: Calm and composed
Fear: Loss of identity
Desire: Uniqueness

Type 3

Everything comming together.
Feel that I'm able to give a fair presentation of the types.

Type 3 real person example Mohammad Ali.

Reference:
Vice: Deceit
Virtue: Truthfullness
Fear: Worthlessness
Desire: Value to others

lørdag 11. januar 2014

Type 2

The next type is done.
I feel I what I get to cover is very important.
My own understanding of these types are going up and I hop it is informative to you too.

Type 2 real person example Bill Cosby.

Reference:
Vice: Pride
Virtue: Altruism
Fear: Unloved
Desire: Unconditional love

Type 1

Managed to make the first vid about the enneagram.
Massive procrastination no hindrance. xD

So think I managed to find a decent format for what I should include and not.
Cause the Ennagram can be massive and confusing, as you will learn later
when I introduce other concepts.

Type 1 real person example Nelson Mandela

Reference:
Vice: Resentment
Virtue: Right action
Fear: Corruption
Desire: Integrity

Enneagram series

I've decided that my next series are going to about the Enneagram.
This is a very interesting system who I've been thinking a lot about lately.
I'm not as experienced with it as the Jungian system,
but I will do a basic intro and gradually increase the complexity as I get deeper into it.

Here is the intro video,

ESFP

There the last video is a wrap.
It feels quite good. =D
I once again got to touch on some important aspects in this vid.
Now that I've finished with this for me a vid-blog newbie, huge project.
Well lets see if I can't come up with something else just as interesting. ;)

ESFP real person example Richard Branson.

Reference:
Dominant: Extroverted sensing
Auxiliary: Introverted feeling
Tertiary: Extroverted thinking
Inferior: Introverted intuition

ISFP

Done my own type now.
Only one type left.
Felt I managed to touch no some really important aspects in this video.
You feel much more at home talking about yourself.
And it really made me realize how the general themes connect up to other types.

ISFP real person example Bob Dylan.

Reference:
Dominant: Introverted feeling
Auxiliary: Extroverted sensing
Tertiary: Introverted intuition
Inferior: Extroverted thinking

ENTJ

Got to say some fairly interesting things about the ENTJ I think.
Really getting in the groove now.
The irony is that all the vids would be ten times better now.
So don't be baffled if I do some sort of redo of everything.
I will of course keep the old ones too.
Cause that POV certainly will have value to someone.
I find that the better I get the herder some people have to relate to what I'm saying.
So having old material will probably help to bridge the gap a little.
And if everything I'm saying is out of reach do hit up youtube or google,
I'm not the only one talking about this subject.

ENTJ real person example George Clooney.

Reference:
Dominant: Extroverted thinking
Auxiliary: Introverted intuition
Tertiary: Extroverted sensing
Inferior: Introverted feeling

INTJ

Now I'm closing in on the last 4 types.
In this video I felt that I managed to really get to some of the core issues of this.
A must watch if you are an INTJ.
But really I feel that every video has it's own little golden nugget.
Especially if you are an Ni type.
For other types, well what can I say.
I'm not naturally equiped to present things the way you prefer.

INTJ real person example Magnus Carlse.

Reference:
Dominant: Introverted intuition.
Auxiliary: Extroverted thinking
Tertiary: Introverted feeling
Inferior: Extroverted sensing

torsdag 9. januar 2014

ESTJ

Just did the ESTJ vid despite massive procrastination.
I have this idea about quality in my mind, but eh whatever.
I will say what I have to say and move on.
If I find that there is more to be said at a higher standard later
I will do a version 2.

ESTJ real person example Dr. Phil.

Dominant: Extroverted thinking
Auxiliary: Introverted sensation
Tertiary: Extroverted intuition
Inferior: Introverted feeling

ISTJ

Done with the ISTJ.
The irony hits me that these types may have a hard time relating to the way
I'm dealing with this problem area.
But I will continue to attack this from my own frame.
The better I get it from my frame the easier it will become dealing with it.

Real person example Rivers Cuomo

Reference:
Dominant: Introverted sensing
Auxilary: Extroverted thinking
Tertiary: Introverted feeling
Inferior: Extroverted intuition

ENFP

Just did the ENFP video.
Tried to compare it to the ENTP to get a bit of contrast.
I said that the ENTP is more people focused, but that is an overstatement.
The ENTP need group values to push them into action is what I meant.
While the ENFP need facts and conclutions connected to objects to take action.

ENFP real person example Gwen Stefani

Reference:
Dominant: Extroverted intuition
Auxiliary: Introverted feeling
Tertiary: Extroverted thinking
Inferior: Introverted sensing
